What is rose gold-plated metal?

What does rose gold-plated mean? Simply put, it means that a metal core (in this case our unique metal blend) has been plated with a layer of copper mixed with 14k gold, which is what gives it that rosy blush-pink finish.

Our unique metal blend consists of a mix of copper, silver and other metals to make it durable and long-lasting. In fact, almost all gold and rose-gold jewelry is mixed with other metals to make sure it stands the test of time.

We also encase the unique metal blend in a layer of palladium before plating it and add an anti-tarnish layer to keep it glowing long after it's left the hands of our skilled craftspeople.

A pink blush

While it is the mix of copper and 14k gold that gives our rose gold-toned jewelry its unmistakable warm glow, the inside is made of our unique metal blend, which is mainly copper, mixed with silver and other metals.

Stamped with the MET hallmark

As with all of our jewelry, our rose gold-toned pieces are hand-finished with love and are stamped with the MET hallmark. That's a fancy way of saying that the metal core is made out of our unique metal blend.

How to care for 14k rose gold-plated metal

When you love it, store it . Make use of your jewelry box and protect your favorite bits of jewelry from any direct sunlight or dusty spots. Clean your pieces regularly, too, with our Pandora Care Kit. We'll let you know exactly how to do that below.

Clean 14k rose gold-plated jewelry using the Pandora Care Kit

Polish your pieces with a soft polishing cloth to get that shine glowing. We'd recommend using the polishing cloth from the Pandora Care Kit. We've designed it with plated jewelry in mind, meaning it's soft enough to clean all your charms, bracelets, necklaces, rings and earrings.

The Care Kit also includes a gentle cleaning solution you can use together with the untreated pink side of the cloth to keep everything looking great.

Store jewelry in a box or pouch

Let's keep things scratch-free, shall we? By storing your jewelry in a protective pouch or a tarnish-resistant jewelry box, you'll be doing yourself and your pieces a huge favor by minimizing the risk of unwanted damage.

Take off jewelry before swimming

While we love water-based activities, there's a time and place for everything. And that time is not for Pandora jewelry. So, please remove your sparkling and shiny pieces before swimming, showering or bathing.

Rose gold jewelry

Rose gold-plated jewelry is a staple in many collections, and for good reason -- it's as versatile as it is easy to pair with anything in your wardrobe. Whether you're a minimalist with basics on repeat or change your look daily, there's something new for you to try with our necklaces, charms and other essential styles.

Rose gold necklaces

We love keeping it monochrome as much as the next person, so adding texture to your layering necklaces is key to keeping things interesting. Try alternating link chain pieces with cable chain designs in our 14k rose gold-plated finish.

By adding a pendant with some sparkle, you can also bring extra focus to your layering game. Whether you're styling two, three or more necklaces together, it's always fun to play with proportions and mix in contrasting styles, like our favorite curb chain necklace.

Rose gold bracelets

One of the things we love the most about 14k rose gold-plated bracelets is that they're perfect for any occasion. They can take you from office to wedding in a heartbeat, especially if you fill them with sterling silver and 14k gold-plated charms.

A 14k rose gold-plated bangle is another staple piece that deserves a place in your collection. Learn how to stack your bracelets with our expert guide.

Rose gold earrings

Let's give a little love to our rose gold-toned ear stacks. Warm-toned stud earrings or hoop earrings can look unexpected, yet polished, as a part of any ear styling, especially when mixed with sterling silver or 14k gold-plated styles.

Rose gold rings

Every ring collection needs a few rose-gold pieces. We might be biased, but we think adding rosy-pink tones to any ring stack is a must. Pair rose-gold rings with and without stones in the same shape, like our wishbone rings. Or mix your metals and stack rose gold with gold tones and sterling silver to add a pop of color to a monochrome outfit.
